Researchers from the Anillo project developed a revolutionary system to detect Alzheimer’s disease in early stages that is still under investigation.

Using blood samples, our directors Rolando de La Cruz and Claudia Duran-Aniotz implemented machine learning techniques and microRNA panels, identifying the presence of specific biomarkers present in this disease.

They also had the support of GERO director and research associate, Andrea Slachevsky, who provided the samples for the study. This joint effort opens the door to future improvements to strengthen the technique and speed up detection times. Hope for millions of people and a better quality of life!
